
For example, consider the following:
In my current campaign I spent $68. I had two campaigns in AdWords and one Ad Group in each campaign.
In the first campaign after about a day I had spent $14. In the second campaign I spent about $6. $20 total for both campaigns.
I checked my affiliate account and saw that I had one sale for $10. Not very good, but it was still early. I decided to check out which keywords were getting the clicks when I noticed something odd.
For my second campaign, I typed the wrong website into the landing url! Lucky for me I was starting slow and lost $6. Had I have had my full budget in there I would have lost at least $100 before I noticed.
Safe to say that just this one example has taught me my lesson, check, double-check then start slow just incase the double-check missed something!
