With these sites, I buy traffic from AdWords and I use the conversion tracker. I don't actually sell a product with these sites so the conversion tracker would normally not be helpful.
Here is how I use it to guage where my visitors go.
Visitor clicks through my ad to my landing page. This landing page does not have the conversion tracking code on it. However, every other page on my site DOES have the conversion tracking code on it.
What this allows is me to view my conversion data, and instead of that being actual conversions, that is the percentage of visitors who click from my landing page to another page of my site.
For example, I have one site with about a 50% conversion ratio. That means that 50% of my paid clicks are clicking to another part of my site.
With that knowledge I know that even if I just break even with that page, I will make a lot more money because half of those visitors are finding other pages within my site to click ads.
Make sense? If you have questions I'd love to answer them, send me an email at brandonchopkins@gmail.com or post a comment below. If you send a question, I'll give you a free link to your website.
