That was the sound of ANGER! I finished a complete post, didn't write to a text document like I know I should have, but wrote directly in the entry box for Movable Type. Then as I hit save, my browser didn't connect to the web server and my only option was to hit the back button. As I hit my back button my entry box was empty!
Well, the basis of my post was this:
Be careful what you read, and be more careful with what you implement.
I read PPC articles and blogs as often as I can. I read the following line in a blog. For some reason this blog isn't listed in Google right now, so hopefully you won't stumble across it.
"Spend the most you can every day until your budget runs out. If you have a $1000 monthly budget, try to spend $1000 on the first day."
For some people, few people this might be a good idea. Very few people.
Most people need to do just the opposite, start small and build gradually. Start with $10 daily budget. Monitor the first day, then the second day up that to $20 and go up to $33.33 so you can reach your $1,000 monthly budget.
If you spend $1000 your first day, there are MANY things that can go wrong, and one of them most likely will. Here are a few things that I thought of in 5 minutes.
1. Affiliate code is bad.
2. Site goes down.
3. PHP error in your code.
4. Affiliate isn't the best affiliate available.
5. Affiliate site goes down.
2. Site goes down.
3. PHP error in your code.
4. Affiliate isn't the best affiliate available.
5. Affiliate site goes down.
If just 1 out of those 5 things happen, you just lost $1000. Flat out, no way around it. $1000 down the drain.
Instead of listening to every wannabee on the internet, find someone you like and trust and read what they have to say. There is a lot of bad advice out there!
