Anonymous Newbie Asks: Is it possible for me to make money with PPC?
Anonymous Newbie Asks: Is it possible for me to make money with PPC?

I love when newbies send in questions.  Not just because they are easy to answer but because I like to see as many people get involved with PPC.  PPC is a great way to increase business or to supplement your income.  As I tell my friends, if you have time, I can turn it into money. Then I charge them $49.95 a month for the next 60 months and they have to convince their friends to buy my nonexistant eBook for $99.99.

Seriously though, if you want to get started with PPC, now is a great time.  There are hundreds of great websites and blogs about PPC, some good eBooks, people willing to help at forums.

However, PPC is trending upwards in the amount of advertisers that are in the market.  That means lower margins and higher CPC's.

If you have literally never used PPC I would first recommend building a website.  Marketing that website and learning about website marketing.  That isn't a requirement, but it will help get you into the mindset.  If you haven't ever made money online, it can be a good way to start.  And, if you are like I was, without much startup capital, it can be a great way to build a little income before spending your "hard earned" money from that "real job".

Newbie, if you want to make money with PPC it isn't going to be easy, it will take hours of work.  If you're not willing to risk losing money and aren't willing to put in at least 1-2 hours DAILY then I wouldn't recommend PPC.  If you aren't willing to build a website and read Brett Tabke's 26 Steps to a Successful Website (and follow them) then I would say PPC isn't for you.

However, if you are willing to, or already have a website then you can definitely make good money with PPC!

Keep those questions coming.  Email me at brandonchopkins@gmail.com or post a comment.  If you want a free link to go along with your question, just let me know the anchor text you want to use and where you want it to point.

Okay, REALLY new newbee here. Does this article pertain to those who are putting ads on their own website, or to those who are creating ads to run on the websites of others?

Joey, PPC is the art of paying for visitors and making money with those visitors. I would recommend my Understanding PPC series for great information for newbies.
