If you, like me, have those campaigns and need a fresh look at what you could do differently, send me an email (brandonchopkins@gmail.com), or post a comment. I won't use your site URL unless you want me to, but I'll answer your questions in a post and email you when the post is up.
How can you beat free advice?
Here is the first question I received 2 days ago:
How can I increase clicks to a new affiliate I am promoting through PPC. There are only 3 people advertising for the keyword, and I am always listed number 1 on Google search.
It sounds to me like the problem is not with your campaign, but with the amount of people actually searching for the product or service you are promoting. Here are a few things you can try.
- Check and see approximately how many searches are being performed for your keyword. I like Shawn's tool at DigitalPoint called the Keyword Suggestion Tool.
- Set up campaigns at Yahoo! Search Marketing and MSN adCenter. You might also consider a few other sites like 7search.com as well. You might be able to pick up more clicks at these networks. Hopefully these network combined might equal what you are getting from AdWords.
- Increase your keywords. If you only have one keyword, which your question implied, then you need to add supplemental keywords. Using free tools like the Keyword Suggestion Tool you can find other keywords that people are using to search. AdWords also provides a tool called the Keyword Tool that can help add keywords to your campaigns pretty easily.
- Rewrite your ads. If you are sure there are people searching for your affiliate keywords, then maybe your ads are the problem. Are people seeing your ad but clicking a competitor? Are people not clicking ads and just using organic search results? I would write about 10 different ads, using the keywords, and see how those new ads perform in comparison to your old ads. If they have a better CTR, then delete your old ads and keep testing with new ads.
