I prefer to write my ads based around different types of ideas. Here is how I like to do it.
Create 5 ads.
Ad 1 - Basic - This ad should have no sales promotion techniques, just your straight ad.
Ad 2 - Sales - This ad is a soft sell advertisement. Don't oversell your product or service, just explain the best position or hole your product fills.
Ad 3 - Sales 2 - This ad should be a hard sell. Make the customer know that he can't live without yoru product, create a feeling of necessity.
Ad 4 - Feelings - Try to create a positive feeling with this ad. Something that causes that reader to feel better, and want to buy your product as a result.
Ad 5 - Feelings 2 - Try to make the reader of this ad feel guilty if they don't buy your product or service.
Writing these 5 ads will let you know what the market wants in your ad. If your product sells best with a soft sell, you'll know that right away. If your service needs to make your users feel guilty, your 5th ad will have a higher CTR. This is a great way to determine what type of ads are best for you and your PPC campaign.
