The problem so far has been competition. This was to be expected as the author posted the exact keywords he planned to run and how much he was planning to spend. Obviously other people began to mimic the experiment by running their own PPC ads. They are probably using the same affiliates which will continue to make it difficult for the autho to make any money.
As of this posting the author has made $500 but spent $800 leaving him $300 in the hole we've all be in. I wonder if the experiment will be finished if the author ends up $1000+ in the hole, or will he stop it early?

Going CPM
So something I have tried specifically with CollegeJersey.com is to go the CPM route rather than CPC. The way this works is you simply enter in a URL of a site you want the ads to display on, and Google with give you a list of similiar sites that you can advertise on as well.
So I’ve set that up this morning and I’m planning to let it run for a while.

The author has indeed kept his budget at about $50 a day as promised. Let's hope he can pull something out of his PPC hat that we can all learn from this experiment!
